Thor Rasmussen

passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the age of 82 years.
Thor leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Mary; his daughter Lucinda (Darrell Manning); his son Shayn (Deasy) and grandson Scout. Thor was predeceased by his parents, Hans and Christa; and brother, Tony Rasmussen.
The memorial service for Thor was conducted from Living Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle, Lloydminster, Alberta on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Tim Acey officiating.
The eulogy was given by Helen Row Toews.
Special Music was ‘Amazing Grace’ by Helen Row Toews and Justin Walker.
The Honorary Pallbearers were Angie Dosko, Deasy Rasmussen, Norman Helm, Darrell Manning, Ralph Chamberlain and Scout Rasmussen.
The reception was held at Living Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle immediately following the service.
Donations in memory of Thor may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

We wish to convey our gratitude to all of our family members, friends and neighbors for their sympathy, comfort, visits, phone calls, and support on the news of Thor’s passing. A profound thank you is owed to Tim Meldrum and Norman Helm for assisting Thor and Mary with their farm work throughout Thor’s illness. Thank you also to everyone who attended the funeral, gave flowers and donations, and sent cards. These acts of generosity have been a source of comfort in ways you cannot know.
A sincere thank you is owed to Pastor Tim Acey of the Living Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle for officiating at Thor’s funeral and for his support while Thor was ill. In addition, we wish to thank Lucy for her musical accompaniment at the service, and Pastor Sam for overseeing the acoustics and photo presentation. Thank you to the Living Faith ladies who catered the beautiful lunch.  A special thank you goes to Helen Row Toews for giving the eulogy and for singing, as well to her son Justin Walker for his gift of special music. Thank you also to Angie Dosko, Norman Helm, and Ralph Chamberlain for your support as honorary pallbearers.
To the doctors, nurses, homecare nurses, ambulance attendants and other staff at the Lloydminster Hospital who helped Thor during his long illness we extend our deep appreciation.  Last, we wish to thank Glenn McCaw, Joel McCaw, and Don Whiting for their kindness and care in organizing Thor’s funeral.
We will always remember these acts of generosity with deep appreciation.

Kenneth Arthur French

passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the age of 61 years.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Norma, four children; Angie (Johnny), Rory (Marea), Joel (Breanna), and Chris (Shawna), five grandchildren; Sarah, Dylan, Rayanna, Emberlynn and Jack, and seven siblings; John, Shirley, Dale, Freddy, Dorothy, Eileen, and Dwayne.
The Celebration of Life was held at Lloydminster Gospel Fellowship on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 10:00 am with Pastor Glenn Blazosek officiating.
Interment followed at the Lloydminster cemetery.
Donations in memory of Ken can be made to the Olive Tree or the Salvation Army Food Bank.
The family would like to sincerely thank the ER doctors and nurses at the Lloydminster Hospital, Pastor Darrell and volunteers of Lloydminster Gospel Fellowship and Glenn McCaw and the staff of McCaw Funeral Service.  Thank you to Pastor Glenn Blazosek for his care and for officiating the service, to Bardy Hayes for giving the eulogy, to Ken’s friends who provided the music and all of our friends and relatives for their prayers, visits, phone calls and gifts.  We are so grateful to have such caring and thoughtful people in our lives.

Illa Louise Oliver

passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the age of 87.
Illa leaves to mourn her passing: sons, Herb Oliver and mother of his children, Cheryl Oliver, John and Roz Oliver, Dave and Deloris Oliver, Bob and Melody Oliver, Mike and Bev Oliver, and Harold and Jackie Oliver; sister, Blanche Pedersen; sister-in-law, Dora Baker; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Illa was predeceased by: her husband, Robert Oliver and parents, John and Cora McCann.
The Funeral Service for Illa was conducted from Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:30 AM with Pastor John Sellwood officiating.
The eulogy was given by Jeff Rogers.
The hymns sung were, In the Garden and Whispering Hope, accompanied by organist, Lana Johnson.
The active pallbearers were Herbert Oliver, John Oliver, David Oliver, Robert Oliver, Michael Oliver, and Harold Oliver.
Interment was held at Albion Cemetery.

Eileen Robina Paul

passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 75 years.
Eileen leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Bill Paul; her children: son, Ronnie Paul (friend Carla) and his children Ricky, Ryan and Sydney; daughter, Donna (Grant) Maclean; son, Dennis Paul and his child, Brad; son, Roy (Anetta) Paul and their children Chad, Kelsie and Clay; son, Dale (Karen) Paul; and son Donnie (Wendy) Paul and their child, Cody. and two great grandchildren, Oaklee and Nixon; her sister Sheila (Gerald) Mason; her brothers Edward Duddy, Michael (Theresa) Duddy, and Francis (Jean) Duddy; also, her best friends Shirley Parkin and Audrey Curtis.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Annie Duddy; granddaughter, Heather; and sister Mary Kinshella.
The Funeral Service for Eileen will be conducted from St. John’s Anglican Church, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Joyce Dickson officiating.
The eulogy was given by Randy Allen.
The hymns sung were “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In the Garden” accompanied by organist, Pat Skinner.
The honorary pallbearers were all of Eileen’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The active pallbearers were Ronnie Paul, Dennis Paul, Shorty Paul, Dale Paul, Donnie Paul, and Grant MacLean.
Interment was held at the Lloydminster City Cemetery, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.
Donations in memory of Eileen may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute of Alberta or the Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation Palliative Care.

Jason Daus

passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the age of 43 years.
Jason leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 22 years Tracy; children: Tyler, Rachel and Ethan; brother Grant; sister Brynn; father Reinhart; grandmother Emilie; father and mother-in-law Ray and Christine Ference; and numerous other relatives.
Jason was predeceased by his mother Lhynne and grandfather Albert.
A private family service was held at McCaw Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Haycock officiating.

Blanche Marie Pedersen

April 26, 1933 to October 7, 2016

Blanche passed away peacefully the morning of October 7, 2016, after a gradual decline in her health.  She was surrounded and supported by family and friends during the final days of her life.  Blanche was born on the family farm in the Tangleflags community where she spent the majority of her life.  In her later years, with much reluctance, she moved to the Heritage Homes in Paradise Hill where she established friendships and grew to love her new surroundings.  Something you could always count on at Mom’s place was a hot cup of coffee and a friendly visit.
She was predeceased by:  her husband, Juul; her daughter, Ovidia; and her sister, Illa.
Blanche is survived by: her four children, Heather (Duane), Milton (Colleen), Karen (George), and Kathy (Peter); her 13 grandchildren, Jordan, Lindsay, Kristen, Tina, Tyson, Brandi, Marcy, Marty, Josh, Shauna, Travis, Tanner, and Kayla; her 22 great- grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Iris Elsborg; her good friend, Grace Noeth; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.



We would like to thank all of our family, friends and neighbors for their support and kindness during this difficult time.  Thank you to all those who cared for Mom during her illness.  We gratefully acknowledge all of the phone calls, flowers and visits to each of our homes.  Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.

LANE: Eric Lane passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the age of 62 years.
Eric leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife, Arlene; son, Vincent; daughter, Vanitee; sister, Rose Hardy and family; brothers: Tom (Wendy) Lane and family and George Lane and family; aunt, Emily Lane; mother-in-law, Kathleen Epp; sister-in-law, Jeanette Epp; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Penny) Epp and family and David Epp and family, as well as numerous other relatives.
Eric was predeceased by his parents, Stan and Olive Lane and sister, Margaret Davis.
Celebration of Life for Eric was conducted from the Blackfoot Hall with Peter Johnson officiating.
Active Pallbearers were Ronald Lonquist, Ryan Lonquist, Shawn Epp, Charles Lane, Hugh McPhee, and Boyd McConnell.
Interment was held at the Kitscoty Cemetery, Kitscoty, Alberta.

FINNESTAD: Victor passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the age of 61 years.
Victor leaves to mourn his passing: wife Cheryl; daughter’s Tara and her husband Troy Ferguson, their daughters Kasey and Bailey, Shinnel and her husband David Diachinsky and their kids Alexis and Daniel, brothers Ray and his wife Lori Finnestad, Ron and his wife Pat Finnestad; sisters Donna and her husband Brian Reinhart, Cheryl and her husband Scott Tupper, sister-in-law Marilyn and her husband Les Mitchell as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Victor was predeceased by his parents Norman and Margaret, brother Brian Finnestad,  brother-in-law Duane Hardy, father-in-law Ronald and mother-in -law Eileen Hardy.
The memorial service was conducted from the First Lutheran Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 1:00pm with Pastor John Haycock officiating.
The eulogy was given by George McAllister.
Urnbearers were Bob and Bev Christie.
The reception was held in the Blackfoot Hall.

The Finnestad family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Kevin Govender and the great team of physicians Vic had over the past few months.  Also to the nurses and the physio team for the compassionate care given to Vic.  A special thanks to the care aids who always made sure Vic was well looked after, you all made our days brighter!
A big thank you to our many family and friends who have supported us over the past months.  All of the visits at the hospital, meals brought to the hospital and the house, phone calls and the kind words mean so much to us.  Thank you also for the cards, flowers and the donations in Vic’s memory, every gesture is truly appreciated and makes this difficult time a little easier.
Thank you to the Blackfoot ladies who put on the wonderful lunch for us and also to the Lions Club for setting up the hall.
To Brett and the staff at McCaw’s, words cannot express how appreciative we are of the professionalism and compassion shown to us during this difficult time, thank you.
