Boundary Ford and Boundary Pre-Owned and Motorsports partnered with the Lloydminster public and Catholic school divisions this year to provide much needed backpacks and school supplies, all due to a no strings test drive.
They were raising money to provide every single elementary school in Lloydminster with school supplies for grades 1 to 6.
“We hope to fill five to seven backpacks for each school (public and Catholic). As of late we have raised an additional $350 through an employee bake sale, we will be holding one last fundraiser in a final push to raise money to purchase more supplies and back packs for students,” said Nicole Litzenberger, business development co-ordinator with Boundary Ford.
This will be a one day only test drive event at Boundary Ford. They asked for as many people as possible to come down Saturday, Aug. 23, and test drive any vehicle they wanted. For every test drive completed, Ford of Canada gave $20 towards the cause.
In the end, $2,800 was raised with 140 test drives taken. The good news is of course, that all these students will have the tools they need to do the job of learning. Even better, “We are still accepting donations,” said Litzenberger. Although the fundraiser fell short of their initial goal, the cause is too important not to go ahead with the plan.
