The Lloydminster Tanroc Bobcats have begun the Mac’s Midget Tournament with a 3-0 record.

The Lloydminster PWM Steelers are 1-1 after their first two games at the Mac’s Midget Tournament in Calgary. 

 It was about the type of game you’d expect when you get far and away the top two defensive teams in the Dodge Division. Scoring opportunities were hard to come by in the Lloydminster Tanroc Bobcats and St. Albert Raiders 2-2 draw Saturday night. 

 Milaine Theriault knows the routine the Canadian cross-country team is going through right now.

 Brett Slobodzian scored what would be the eventual game winner at 17:43 of the third period as the Lloydminster Bobcats 11 game winless streak came to an end Friday night in Brooks.

On the plus side, the Lloydminster Bobcats stopped their 11 game losing streak.
Unfortunately, their winless streak hit 12 games as they tied the Drayton Valley Thunder 3-3 on the road Tuesday night.

It’s always nice to beat a rival and the Holy Rosary Raiders girl’s basketball team can say they did that in the first meeting this season.
The Raiders hosted the Lloyd Comp Barons Tuesday night and despite a slow start, the final score, 46-36, ended up in the Raiders’ favour.

It should be a special weekend for Lloyd Comp High School as they celebrate both past and present.
This weekend, Dec. 19 and 20, marks the annual Alumni Weekend for the Lloyd Comp Barons basketball team where players who played up to three decades ago will join together for a small tournament.

It was the first taste of struggles for the Lloydminster Tanroc Bobcats this weekend, but impressively, it took until the middle of December for it to happen.
The Bobcats were in tough, playing three games in three days and coming away with only one point.
