At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, Lloydminster RCMP responded to the stabbing of a 21-year-old male in the apartment complex at 3005 56 Ave.

City to petition Sask. Government for policing grant

The City of Lloydminster is not receiving municipal police funding for the 9,772 Lloydminster residents on the Saskatchewan side of the city.
In 2009, when the city switched their policing from the RCMP’s F Division (Saskatchewan) to K Division (Alberta), the city stopped receiving funds for those Saskatchewan taxpayers.

City to improve south intersection

The improvements are to include the installation of curb, gutter and sidewalk, while also widening the road. A traffic light will also be installed at the busy intersection.

Lloydminster Mayor Jeff Mulligan and city corporate services deputy CAO Don Newlin attended the Alberta Mid-Sized City Mayors and Managers Meeting in Medicine Hat on Thursday and Friday.
